Born on September 7, 2009, Amber was the cherished daughter of Todd and Julie Simmons. She was also a beloved granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched countless lives.
Those closest to Amber remember her as someone who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for animals, nature, books, and music, and treasured spending quality time with her family. Whether cooking alongside her mother, assisting her father with mechanical projects, or enjoying trips, musicals, and bookstore visits with her grandparents, Amber embraced every moment with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Amber also shared a special bond with her longtime boyfriend, Ethan Schlappi, whom family and friends described as her soulmate. The couple enjoyed attending demolition derbies together and caring for their ducks, chickens, and beloved cat, Buck. In an especially heartbreaking turn of events, Ethan passed away just two days before Amber, compounding the grief felt throughout the community.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Amber’s life on August 1 at the Simmons family home in Sunfield, where loved ones shared memories of her radiant smile, loving heart, and unwavering kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were directed to the Be Nice Foundation, honoring Amber’s legacy of compassion and care for others.
